Ahh blessed week 3! Week three what can I say? I guess you're getting to the point where you're in the routine of things. Wake-up, devotions, breaky, duties(I need to get myself a new duty), class, break, class, break, bible study, break, class or (wednesday work day), lunch(yep at 2), long break (general time of procrastination that some like to call homework time), class, dinner, (insert evening event here). So we're a little busy. And this was my week to share my testimony. Woot!
I really enjoy being in such a concentrated place of learning. It seems so easy to focus here and although I know it will be hard when I get home I'm trying to relish in the time that's been given to me here. Soak it all in. We've all been having such good/deep discussions and trying to wrestle with the "hard" questions. It's so good to be in a place that promotes and encourages depth and questioning that hopefully leads to knowledge or at least a better understanding of issues.
This Saturday our group travelled the neighboring township of Calpe. Beautiful little town on the coast with a huge mountain peering off the edge of the peninsula. For the first half of the hike it was a fairly wide an designated road to the rest stop and then it continued on and was narrowing and winding. By the time we crossed through a tunnel to the other side of the mountain I knew I was in for it. There was no barrier between the narrow paths and the plunging depths into the rocky sea. It almost felt like my body kicked into survival mode. It took over. So I didn't hike to the top of Mt. Calpe that day. A girl from school and I hiked down and went for cafes at the beach front. The eeriest part was that the rocks looked so similar; it gave me the heeby-geebies. It's weird I have firm belief that one day I'll be able to do it again but it's just not that time for me yet. Pushing through fears at a responsible/reasonable rate!
It was a really acknowledging week of strengths, limitations and realization of how little my knowledge can be. It's amazing how the deeper you dig the more is revealed and illuminated for you. Even more amazing is how much it surprises me :) Humbled.
Till next time.
